Blue Line K9 Foundation was established after the loss of Police K9 Ronin who was killed in the line of duty on June 20th, 2013. K9 Ronin gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting his partner, fellow officers and the citizens of Glendale, Arizona.
After the death of K9 Ronin his partner, K9 Officer Wes Zygmont received an outpouring of support from around the country. People he had not even met were sending him cards, flowers, gifts among many other items. The one question that people kept asking was, "how can I help, where can I donate".
Unfortunately, at the time of K9 Ronin's death there was no outlet for the outpouring of financial support that was offered. That is where the vision for the Blue Line K9 Foundation was started.
While the foundation was being established it was also recognized that Police Departments around the country struggle to provide the necessary funding to support their K9 Units. Many K9 Units are solely funded through donations and grants. With each K9 costing over $60,000 during their service career, there is a need for supporting organization like ours.
